Carine opened up her studio to the public for the Stackwood Christmas Market in Walyup, Boorloo (Fremantle, Perth), and captured the community on Polaroid film. She instigated a novel experience as participants had to slow down, and wait for their pictures to develop. The resulting portraits reveal a nostalgic and dreamy look. The softly focused portraits are reminiscent of the early twentieth-century photography movement, Pictorialism, where photographers were inspired by Impressionist painters.
